Illuminate Me

There was one thing in the news that made me smile recently: the announcement of the Pantone colors for 2021! They are Ultimate Gray and Illuminating, which is a vibrant shade of yellow. The first is a reflection of our current reality, and the second is inspirational.

The reality is we are in a gray area. We don’t know what’s going to happen, and Ultimate Gray reflects this feeling. It’s a practical, neutral and dependable color. Then, we have Illuminating! A beautiful, vibrant yellow representative of brighter days ahead. It’s positive and uplifting, and suggests change and excitement. It’s the shining light of reinvention and reinvigoration. There is a need to feel hopeful right now, and Illuminating mirrors this.

The combination of these two colors is on point with the times. A stable, neutral gray alongside a vibrant, promising yellow. Two complementary colors that contrast yet work beautifully together.
